In my day job, I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine

at Boston University.

While I very much appreciate my rewarding job that includes mentoring students in performing cell biological research, one of my most meaningful experiences is to connect with others and talk about how to navigate life's common struggles.

On this site, I have posted 3-5 minute "life advice" videos, documenting some of the lessons that I have learned over the years from my own many mistakes. Most videos were recorded in early 2020, although new content is now being posted (as of November 1, 2021).

LATEST VIDEO - The importance of meditation and mindfulness - posted January 4, 2022

Other recent videos -

Brene Brown's Ten Guideposts for Wholehearted Living - posted December 1, 2021

Becoming whole after being broken - posted November 1, 2021

I also have recently begun a blog - https://drlauraloweryblog.com/

I will also be posting other content in the near future, including book recommendations and other ideas that I have been incorporating in my own life to live in a more present and mindful manner.

I am currently focused on maintaining a healthier work-life balance, and this includes making time for daily journaling, watercolor painting, intentional breathing, reading, walking, and meditation, in addition to prioritizing time with family and friends.
